Save the Date!!!

Forward Together: An All-Church Visioning Workshop will be held immediately following Morning Worship on Sunday, Sept.11.   A light lunch will be served.

The Rev. Susie Craig, Assoc. Conference Minister of the Maine Conference, UCC, will be our facilitator.   We will take a fresh look at our Purpose Statement, assess how well we are living out that purpose and seek to discern any new directions God may be leading us in.   Mark your calendar. Your perspective is important too!

$3,000 Grant from UCC

The Maine Conference, United Church of Christ, recently granted our church $3,000 for our Handi-Cap accessibility project. Thanks to the initiative of Dr. Bromley, we received this amount to pay for the recently installed Emergency Lights which you may have spotted in many different places around our church buildings. These installations, by Shawn Higgins, were required by the Fire Marshall’s office, and help make our facility safer. Now we can move on to the next phase of our project, which is to make our Dining Room more accessible by purchasing a portable lift.

This is the second grant we have received from the UCC in the past 3 years.

A couple of years ago we received a grant for $1,000 to help support our youth mission trip to the Dominican Republic. Both gifts came from the Resourcing the Local Church Fund of the Maine Conference.   According to Bill, we could receive up to $2,000 this year again for further expenses on our project. I encourage you to go to the MEUCC link on our website and click on Guidelines and Resources to learn more about this fund.
